Platform Engineering Team Lead

Redis is looking for a Platform Engineer Team Leader to lead our Platform Engineering team.

We believe that our development platform is not just a means to an end but a product in its own right. Our platform engineering team is responsible for crafting, enhancing, and optimizing this critical foundation to support Redis innovation and growth.

From enabling our product teams to evolving our build system, to owning both our internal and open-source infrastructure, this team plays a central role in our business operations.

As a Platform Engineer TL, you will play a critical role in shaping and optimizing our development platform, ensuring a seamless developer experience, and fostering a culture of efficiency and innovation. You will have a large impact on how Redis delivers and provides solutions that will impact Databases for thousands of customers and some of the world’s largest companies.

What Will You Do

  • Lead the a cross culture Engineering Platform Infra team, globally positioned in both Israel and Bulgaria.
  • Work closely with the Redis development teams to design, build, and maintain the product platform and the developer experience
  • Own the Redis Enterprise build and the Redis OSS distribution
  • Own and evolve the Keep the Business running infrastructure
  • Work closely with Azure as part of Azure Managed Redis
  • Lead, empower and mentor team members to increase their confidence, knowledge, and development.

What Will You Need

  • At least 6 or more years of experience working with large-scale, complex systems.
  • At least 3 years of software development team management experience.
  • Experience using CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github actions, etc.)
  • Experience with managing software build systems - (Bazel, GitHub, make, etc.)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)

Extra Great If You Have

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
  • Good understanding of Kubernetes, microservices and ecosystems (Helm, kustomize, Istio, CSI, GKE, EKS, etc.)
  • Experience with NoSQL solutions at the architectural level
  • Experience working with large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (e
