What is the job:

We are seeking an Expert Software Engineer to be the technical leader for our Cloud WAAP (Web Application and API Protection) R&D group.

In this role, you will drive the design and development of Radware’s SaaS security platform, which safeguards modern applications and APIs against web-based attacks, bot traffic, and evolving DDoS threats.

This position is ideal for an engineer with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and cybersecurity, who is eager to shape the future of application and API protection at scale.

What will you do?

• Lead the technical design and architecture of the Cloud WAAP R&D group.
• Build and deliver scalable, secure, cloud-native solutions for application and API protection.
• Work closely with the Group Manager to align technical direction with product goals.
• Mentor and support engineers, ensuring high-quality design and code.
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security are core considerations in system design and implementation.
• Lead cross-department initiatives and drive technical alignment across teams.
• Promote effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
  

What you need:

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years in a senior technical leadership role (Tech Lead, Expert Software Engineer) for a high-scale SaaS product.
• Strong background in backend system design, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS Platform and Kubernetes (Helm, operators, etc.).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, ArgoCD, Nexus).
• Experience with Elasticsearch, ClickHouse, Kafka, NATS, Redis.
• Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
• Programming skills in Go and/or Java.
• Solid networking knowledge including HTTP/S, DNS and load balancing.
• Practical use of GenAI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) as part of the development lifecycle.
• Strong problem-solving, ownership, and ability to balance strategy with execution.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and stakeholders.
