About the Role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that all avionics subsystems—such as flight control computers, sensors, displays, navigation and communication systems—work together seamlessly and meet the highest safety, performance, and certification standards.
You’ll play a critical role in defining system architectures, managing software-hardware interfaces, guiding integration efforts, and supporting certification activities. This is an opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on the future of advanced aerial mobility.
Key Responsibilities✅ Avionics System Development & Integration- Define and manage avionics system and software requirements across the development lifecycle.
- Develop system architectures, data flows, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
- Lead integration of avionics hardware and embedded software, ensuring functional coherence.
- Oversee Hardware-Software Integration Testing and System Integration Testing.
- Ensure compliance with aviation standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, DO-160).
🛠 Problem Solving & Design- Analyze complex, cross-domain avionics requirements to inform robust system/software designs.
- Resolve system-level issues, anomalies, and integration challenges.
- Conduct trade-off studies across sensor, protocol, and architectural decisions.
- Support safety assessments (FMEA, FTA, FHA) specific to avionics.
🤝 Collaboration & Communication- Work closely with hardware, software, controls, and electrical teams.
- Coordinate with external suppliers and regulatory agencies.
- Present designs and trade studies to internal stakeholders and certification authorities.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, safety boards, and planning sessions.
✅ Validation, Verification & Certification- Define and execute verification and validation (V&V) plans for avionics systems.
- Analyze lab and flight test data to confirm software integrity and system compliance.
- Support certification campaigns with artifacts and documentation for EASA/FAA.
QualificationsRequired:- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace, Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in avionics or airborne systems engineering.
- Knowledge of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and DO-160 standards.
- Proficiency in systems engineering principles (requirements, V&V, architecture).
- Experience with MBSE tools, requirements management systems, and ICDs.
- Hands-on experience in software-hardware integration and system troubleshooting.
Preferred:- Experience with model-based development and avionics simulation environments.
- Background in flight control systems, GPS/INS navigation, or airborne datalinks.
