About The Role

As DevOps Team Lead at Powtoon, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining, optimizing and scaling our cloud infrastructure. You'll lead a small but mighty global DevOps team (currently 2 engineers), collaborate closely with R&D teams across Tel Aviv, Ukraine, and South America, and ensure the seamless deployment, performance, and security of our systems.

You'll be both strategic and hands-on - guiding architectural decisions, driving automation and observability improvements, and enabling development velocity across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a globally distributed DevOps team, setting priorities and ensuring high-quality delivery at pace
• Own and evolve our cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS), focusing on scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency
• Manage IaC using Terraform (mainly), while continuously improving our CI/CD pipelines and environments
• Maintain and scale our Kubernetes-based workloads and services
• Improve system observability, alerting, and incident response processes
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to support new feature rollouts, infrastructure changes, and platform reliability goals
• Ensure security best practices across infrastructure and deployments
• Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to stay ahead of the curve
  
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on DevOps or SRE experience in cloud-native environments
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring DevOps teams
• Deep experience with AWS infrastructure and services
• Proven expertise in Terraform, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD practices (Bitbucket Pipelines, GitLab CI, or similar)
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Solid understanding of security, monitoring, and incident response in production environments
• Excellent communication skills and experience working with distributed teams
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, agile SaaS environment
• Fluent in English (Verbal and writing).
• Ability to work on-site in Tel Aviv, Israel (hybrid work model available)

• Experience with cost optimization strategies on AWS
• Familiarity with service mesh, multi-region architecture, or edge/CDN infrastructure
• Background in video processing pipelines or media delivery (a big plus)
