The Data Science group at Lightricks builds personalization, recommendations, search and AI assistant solutions for our products. To achieve this we conduct applied research in multiple Machine Learning areas, such as recommender systems, natural language processing, LLMs\VLMs, reinforcement learning and deploy them to production. Our models are integrated into lightricks products and enhance the experience of millions of users.

What You Will Be Doing-

ML Solutions Development:

• As a Data Science Team Lead, you will manage a team of data scientists, collaborate with the team and stakeholders (ML infra, Engineering and Product Management) for identifying opportunities to contribute to Lightricks products’ success with ML based solutions and lead its successful research and production implementation.
• Be the focal point for all your team's technical aspects, guide them to deliver ML based solutions which meet high algorithmic and engineering standards in a dynamic, online environment. Get your hands dirty with code when needed.
• Develop innovative ML models, algorithms, and engineering approaches or identify existing ones, with the potential to impact our business and generalize into reusable frameworks.
• Monitor the ML based solutions health, performance and business impact and act accordingly when requirements are not met.
  
  

Team Management & Leadership:

• Manage the performance and professional growth of your team, providing technical mentorship with a focus on our areas of expertise.
• Keep up to date with recent breakthroughs in the field and understand its potential impact on Lightricks. Define and shape the team’s ML roadmap and extend the teams’ expertise.
• Push for improvements, scaling and extending machine learning processes, tooling and infrastructure.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on objectives and methods. Regularly communicate progress, insights, and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  
  

Your Skills And Experience

• 6+ years of experience in leading machine learning related projects, with 3+ years in a management role in a fast-paced production environment. Advanced knowledge and experience in recommendation systems, search or natural language processing.
• M.Sc or Ph.D. degree in a technical field from a top tier university or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and statistical models.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, leveraging them to build scalable ML/AI applications.
• Experience with data at scale using BigQuery and similar frameworks as well as with operational databases such as Redis.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead a team of data scientists towards achieving impactful solutions.
• Successfully drive machine learning based initiatives that improve product performance, productivity and quality while communicating with stakeholders at all levels.
