Join our Developer Success & Reliability Engineering organization as a Principal Solutions Engineer. As the lifeblood of any software company, developers play a pivotal role in this position, where you'll have the opportunity to provide effective solutions, advocate sophisticated technologies, and design and architect systems to positively influence developer productivity. As part of our team, you will lead the development of innovative technical solutions aimed at eliminating any obstacles that hinder Intuit developers from delivering value to our customers. You're an ideal candidate if you possess a comprehensive skill set, including an in-depth understanding of modern cloud infrastructure services, as well as front-end and back-end technologies.

You should be well-acquainted with modern datastore services and demonstrate hands-on proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker, as well as common infrastructure, networking, and cloud data services.

You should possess sound knowledge of Spring, GraphQL, or gRPC.

Mastery of cloud networking and systems engineering is a requirement.

Additionally, Strong Experience In Full-stack Software Development Is Crucial.

As a Principal-level engineer, you should be prepared to work across organizational boundaries, partnering with stakeholders to gather engineering requirements and provide solutions, thus enabling internal customers to adopt Intuit’s Developer Experience Platform.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years experience designing and developing web, software, or mobile applications
  • 7+ years of expertise in the Software design and architecture process
  • 5+ years of working experience with container technologies
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and mentorship experience
  • Expert-level knowledge of front-end, back-end, APIs, and Datastore technologies
  • Strong expertise in modern cloud infrastructure technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Boundaryless strategical thinker capable of driving high-visibility outcomes across the entire company
  • Proven experience in gathering and converting internal customer requirements into working solutions for large enterprises
  • Strong leadership experience: leading meetings, presenting, technical go-to person, and cross-functional leader
  • Excellent communication skills: demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Expertise with Java, Golang, or Python
  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Expertise with unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Business Acumen, strategic thinking and strategy development

How you will lead

  • Assist and drive our internal partners and customers to make the most of all parts and benefits of Intuit’s Developer Experience Platform (AppFabric, APIs, Developer Tools, Modern SaaS Platform, Observability, Traffic)
  • Promote an AI-first mindset and leverage customer and platform data to accelerate the adoption of the Developer Experience Platform across Intuit
  • Predict, prevent, understand, identify, and resolve any unique customer problems and scenarios that hinder Intuit's core technology capabilities and the development of solutions
  • Collaborate with product management to understand current usage and feature gaps across multiple platforms and products. Then, provide suggestions and support the implementation to address these gaps
  • Help ensure the successful delivery of high-quality components, including requirements, design elements, code, and documentation, to enable partners to use Intuit’s Developer Experience Platform
  • Help with defining, owning, and executing one or more of Intuit's strategic Technical Goals
  • Proactively understand and identify complex customer problems and unique scenarios that hinder their ability to leverage capabilities across multiple domains, while also delivering custom and scalable solutions
  • Maintain continuous engagement with customers across multiple business units to comprehend end-to-end usage of various platforms and products, and pinpoint organizational charter gaps
  • Influence organizational charter and roadmap by delivering critical customer insights
  • Work across multiple channels to resolve significant customer issues and production blockers, acting as a key driver for solutions
  • Exhibit a platform mindset and create sustainable, scalable, and maintainable solutions
  • Demonstrate expertise in understanding the product and advanced concepts in distributed systems
  • Observe and implement best practices for platform adoption
  • Determine product maturity, design and drive the development of advanced self-service utilities across the board to enhance ease of adaptability
  • Be the brand ambassador for tools and utilities owned by the team to increase adaptability
  • Stay updated with new and emerging technologies and share knowledge with a wider group
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert: mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team to overcome challenging programming and design problems
  • Work effectively with all team members to achieve commitments.
  • Approximately 20–40% hands-on coding
  • Foster a positive team dynamic and dedication to team success.
  • Cultivate and apply technical skills in service to customers
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies is essential
